This session will provide an overview of these programs that are critical to anyone wishing to move toward greater financial independence.

  • Impact of Income on SSI Benefits
  • Student-Earned Income Exclusion (SEIE)
  • Overview of the 1619(a) Provision and Break Even Point

Special Features Through the use of PowerPoint presentation, lecture and written materials participants will gain the knowledge and tools needed to provide critical information to SSI recipients with disabilities who are considering a return to work. Online polling will be used to test participant knowledge of work incentive utilization. A preparatory reading assignment will be provided and is required.
