Karen Williams from Washington Irving High School, New York City
Karen Williams, the Transition Linkage Coordinator from Washington Irving High School, located in Manhattan, describes her career center, work experiences, agency linkages and ways in which she connects with students to keep them engaged. She works individually with students, and organizes career fairs and other events. Four of her students provide a �Student Voices� contribution, describing their jobs, interests and perspectives on what makes a good teacher.

Fran Albert, the Transition Linkage Coordinator from School for the Physical City, located in Manhattan, describes her career fair, agency linkages and connections with the business community. She considers parent involvement critical to her success in providing transition services. One of her students provides a "Student Voices" contribution, describing her career development and important relationships with teachers.
Stacey Brzezinski from Bath Central School District
Stacey Brzezinski, the Transition Coordinator from Haverling High School in Bath, NY, describes her student portfolio process and interagency collaborations. Students are the principal owners of their portfolios and use them effectively with the employers and community agencies to achieve their post-school goals. A number of schools and agencies get together monthly to share ideas and problem solve situations.
Deb Valley, the Transition Services Coordinator from St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES in Canton, NY, describes the "Community-Based Work Program" that she leads for 18 component school districts. The unique features of this program include an emphasis on career exploration, paid employment, and very strong connections with both the business community and local agencies.
Tom Turner from LaFayette High School, LaFayette, New York
Tom Turner from the LaFayette Central School District in LaFayette, NY, describes transition services at LaFayette Junior Senior High School. Mr. Turner describes the school's outdoor education program and connections to local colleges, including Syracuse University. In addition, a bonus: "Student Voices" captures the college experiences and thoughts of three former LaFayette High School students.
Judi Feldman from the New York City School District in New York City, NY, describes transition services at Chelsea High School. These include career and technology programs and her interagency relationships. She also describes the school's administrative philosophy and practical ideas regarding improving student attendance and student engagement. In addition, a bonus: "Student Voices" captures the opinions and thoughts of several Chelsea High School students.

Bill Losinger from Corning-Painted Post School District in Corning, NY, describes his work experience program. This program serves a wide variety of students, and leads to paid employment. He has a wide variety of community partners and engages all of his students in a person-centered planning process. ACCESS Program at Alfred University
Bonnie Goodwin, a Greater Southern Tier (GST) BOCES teacher, describes
her program which is based at Alfred University in Alfred, New York. ACCESS serves 18-21
year old students and provides on-the-job training and adult placement for students in a
rural setting through a collaborative service delivery model. They are an Employment Network
under the Ticket-to-Work program.

i just read judy's podcast from chelsea hs.(nyc) it was wonderful to read because i am working very hard and i feel in many ways we are doing similiar things. i love the idea of the student run office. my school got the mtp and it has been super busy and exilerating working with our partner agency (Brooklyn Bureau for Community Services) and everyone.
i had a lot of trouble navigating the computer world system but i am learning (fast). i have not been on trasqual since feb 07, for a number of reasons, first i did not have my pass word, once that was straightened out(thanks, dave), i did not have time. the reason i wanted to go on again, before i go on with my team is that i was trying to add in my brainstorming piece from feb 07 - (pros and cons.) i have a hard copy that i sent in with my proposal but unfortunately i was not able to get to that point and in what i wanted to, instead i stumbled into the podcast which was nice!
