In addition to several years of employment as a vocational counselor and supervisor with the Connecticut Bureau of Rehabilitation Services, she has served as an executive director and program coordinator within nonprofit organizations. She is a certified rehabilitation counselor and a member of the American Rehabilitation Counseling Association (ARCA). During her career she has helped to promote equitable service delivery for consumers of different races, ethnicities, educational backgrounds, and income levels; and she has modeled creative approaches to meeting the needs of individuals with a variety of disabilities including brain injury, substance abuse, psychiatric disabilities, and mobility impairments.
